Bio

Alexandra A. Rego (she/her/hers) is a PhD Student in Theatre and Performance at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. Her current research considers the decolonial potential of aesthetics and logics of abstraction in global performances of migration. Her work employs an expansive conceptualisation of ‘dance’, and as such, is interested in the danced or dancerly qualities of objects, ephemera, and materials such as light, protest, and paper. She is particularly interested in the racialities of migrant subjectivity, border temporalities, and protest. Her research is invested in anti-racist and meta-critical practices, as well as creating further access to scholarship, pedagogy, and the circulation of knowledge.
