Wen Liu is a PhD candidate in Critical Social Personality Psychology at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. In her dissertation, she draws from queer theory, transnational feminism, post-colonial studies, critical race theory and critical psychology to understand the dilemmas and struggles in the queer Asian diaspora in the context of US homonationalism and neoliberalism. As a multidisciplinary scholar, she is interested in placing critical theories from various traditions in dialogues with psychological knowledge to seek new theoretical directions. Recently, she is working with affect theory and the concept of shame to examine the psychological subjects of sexuality, race, and culture.  Wen is an active scholar in the fields of critical psychology and LGBT studies. She is the co-director of the Institute for Tongzhi Studies, a community based organization that facilitates the transnational dialogues of scholarship, activism, and arts among Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, and the Chinese diaspora in the US. She has taught gender and sexuality in the psychology department at Hunter College and the Sarah Lawrence College. You can visit her website here: http://www.wenliu.info/.
