Monique Whitaker, DSC Officer for Health & Wellness

Thursday, October 18th 4:30–9:30 pm Room 5409 CUNY Graduate Center

If, like me, you forgot to set your alarm and missed that one-minute window between the DSC/Student Affairs fitness classes opening for registration and being fully booked up, you may be feeling more than a little stressed out. But there’s some help at hand next Thursday, October 18th, from the good people of the DSC chartered organization Text, Textile, Texture Studio…

They’re offering students the chance to relax and have fun making their own awesome hexaflexagons—with instructions, materials, and snacks provided—in room 5409 of the Grad Center, 4:30–9:30pm.

“Please join us next Thursday, October 18, to make and decorate your hexaflexagons.

These invert-able folded-paper “books,” as Eve Sedgwick called them, have two sides, but paradoxically have six different faces. They’re fun to make, intriguing to watch in action, and remarkably satisfying to manipulate. They can even be used as study aids. Learn more about hexaflexagons on our blog.

Instructions and all materials will be provided, and as with all 3Text Studio events, no special talent or skills are required.  Snacks will be offered.
