My research interests are the identification and subsequent investigation into barriers to and incentives, for developing critical consciousness and youth empowerment interventions. I intend for my studies to engage marginalized youth with training in research methods and application. As their co-creation at every stage of research production will not only shape the interventions, but will also fortify their legitimacy and sustainability. I hope to develop participatory models of engagement that aim to ask minority youth and young adults what they envision for addressing violence and opportunities within their communities.
