Text Textile Texture (3Text) Studio

Inspired by Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick, late Distinguished Professor of English at the Graduate Center, queer theorist, and fiber artist, the purpose of Text Textile Texture Studio 3Text Studio) is to help GC students and other academics practice crafts that are loosely connected to books, texts, or language, as well as studying theoretical and artistic work related to the materiality of language. No experience or special skills are needed to do planned 3Text activities, which may be of interest to students across a very broad range of disciplines. Mission: The 3Text Studio is an interdisciplinary guild dedicated to enabling art-making in the tradition of Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick and other craftspeople motivated by textual interests. Its purpose is practicing such crafts in text, textile, and various studio arts, as well as studying theoretical and artistic work on the materiality of language.
