Question: Give an example of how you have advocated for graduate student needs and experiences on your campus or in your work.

This is Sara Lovett's head shot. Sara is sitting in front of a brown and green background. She is wearing a black cardigan with a polka-dotted scarf and has on a green shirt underneath. She is also wearing black, plastic-rimmed glasses.

I am currently collaborating with two colleagues on a SEED grant project that is aimed to provide our fellow graduate students with teaching resources. Our project is focused on translingual pedagogy, which is familiar to us as language and rhetoric folks but is less familiar to our fellow writing teachers who have backgrounds in other disciplines like cultural studies and comparative literature. Through our project, we aim to demystify “translingualism” and provide pedagogical and assessment resources for teachers–especially new teachers–across disciplines.
