City-owned Land 5-40 44th Dr. and 4-99 44^th Dr.; 1,000 residential units in 650’ and 500’ towers; NYC’s Economic Development Corporation promoted

 Located in the floodplain and hurricane evacuation zone 1, this area should revert to its original state as an ecological zone to protect the inland areas from flooding during storm surges and sea level rise. A highly risk-prone elementary school of 80,000 sq.ft. is proposed. On the basis of EDC’s RFP, development rights were granted to TF Cornerstone [Private Developer]. Community Board 2 requested in 2017 that this site be developed as a natural area park.  No hearing date set.
