QUNY is the LGBTQ chartered student organization of the CUNY Graduate Center. It is an interdisciplinary collective that brings together LGBTQ and allied GC students, faculty, and community members interested in theorizing LGBTQ, politicizing LGBTQ, and socializing LGBTQ. QUNY’s mission is an explicit move to spur critical, cross-disciplinary conversations that render race-less engagements with sexuality and gender moot. We are intervening in queer theory with black studies, transnational feminisms, critical georaphy, critical psychology, marxism, critical gender studies, disability studies, and theories of the body and affect. We insist on the centrality of a history of intersectionality toward a practice of disruptive and generative theoretical machinic assembling (theory-making) that accounts for its politics as it intensifies and disintegrates.
