Over the past year the Brooklyn neighborhood of Crown Heights has become a hot spot for research on gentrification, community change, and community resistance. The Housing Environments Research Group will be hosting a mini-conference this upcoming Fall with the hopes of raising awareness among researchers about who is conducting research in neighborhood and what research questions are being addressed. In addition to creating a space for synergistic conversations among researchers, HERG plans to share what is learned with residents of Crown Heights, and identify what additional avenues of research they see as necessary for their own ends.
