Susan Opotow has been featured quite prominently in the media recently! She was interviewed by Henry Shinn on <Primetime> (tbs eFM 101.3MHz), a live current affairs radio program based in Seoul, regarding protracted, escalating controversy between the state-run Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and residents of rural South Korean communities opposed to the erection of the pylons, especially Miryang, 2 January 2014

Dr. Opotow was also interviewed in the South Korean newspaper, Hankyoreh, about environmental justice, energy production, and the erection of high voltage power pylons in South Korea, 2 December 2013. http://www.hani.co.kr/arti/society/society_general/613545.html

And in April 2013, she was a talk show guest on “Stand Up! With Pete Dominick” on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. She was interviewed about her research on environmental justice and its significance for pro-environmental policy.

Professor Susan Saegert was recently quoted in a New York Times article on Marcus Garvey Village. The article discusses how this low-income housing solution, meant to inspire community, instead resulted in greater criminality and police surveillance for the community members.
