Maurice Green  Ph.D

An engaged resilience expert, Scholarvist and public speaker, he utilizes his expertise in various aspects of social entrepreneurship and the social sciences to effectively assist in investigating inequalities and opportunities within the academic, corporate and social spheres. His primary research focuses on the etiologic studies of counter-criminogenic influences within economically disparate environments; the development of theoretical frameworks that better explain resilience and achievement among socio-economically disadvantaged communities; and the redemptive potential within socially, economically and academically disenfranchised populations. In essence, he helps individuals find the best in themselves to overcome and supersede the worst aspects of their person and environment. He is at his core a Resilience Fire Starter.

Ornamented with a proactive, self-motivated and result driven mentality, he prefers to take the extra step in staying unique and surpassing targeted goals. Being referred to as a “genius” by Dr. William Julius Wilson, at a national event, was one of his most elating career moments. But whenever off professional duties, he derives pleasure in playing Golf and engaging in other Health and Fitness activities.

A Brooklyn native, he obtained both a Bachelors and Masters of Arts degree in Sociology from the City University of New York. He also holds a Masters of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College and a Masters of Philosophy degree from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Maurice also received his doctoral degree in Criminal Justice from the same institution.
