The 2012 ESA Conference, “Cripples, Idiots, Lepers, and Freaks: Extraordinary Bodies / Extraordinary Minds,” will be held on Thursday, March 22 and Friday, March 23, 2012 at the CUNY Graduate Center on 5th Avenue and 34th Street in Manhattan; all conference events are free of charge, and there is no conference registration fee.

On Thursday and Friday the conference will hold concurrent panels of graduate student papers.  The conference will also include two workshops, two brown bag seminars, a talk by Lennard J. This conference is co-sponsored by the CUNY Graduate Center Ph.D. Program in English, the English Student Association, The Center for the Study of Women and Society, The Mellon Committee for Interdisciplinary Science Studies, the Doctoral Students’ Council, The Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies, and The Center for the Humanities.
