Dominique received her Ph.D. in English from the CUNY Graduate Center in 2014. Her dissertation, “Mind, Media, and Techniques of Remediation, 1850-1910” was directed by Dr. Joan Richardson and received the English Program’s Alfred Kazin Prize for the Best Dissertation in American Literature and Culture. An article that emerged from the dissertation, “The Invisible Hand of the Lyric: Dickinson’s Hypermediated Manuscripts and the Debate Over Genre“, was awarded the 2017 Textual Cultures Prize by the Society for Textual Scholarship.
Dominique teaches expository prose writing, writing through/about literature and courses on cultural identity in American literature. She has a background in curriculum development and writing program administration at both the four-year and community college levels. She is currently Co-Director of the Writing Program at LaGuardia. She is also faculty chair of the college’s Honors Journal.
