Question: How would your studies and / or your professional experience advance the mission of WPA-GO? The mission statement may be found here.

Kelly Moreland: After learning about WPA-GO in my second year of doctoral studies I immediately registered for membership, and in the next cycle (Fall 2017) I became involved with the Digital Presence Committee, where we’ve been working to maintain GO’s social media and design GO’s new website, to be made public before the 2018 CCCC convention. This experience coupled with my professional experience in writing program administration and graduate student peer mentorship would translate well to a leadership role in WPA-GO. I am energized by the opportunities GO affords graduate students. If elected to the Graduate Committee, I would rely on the professional experience I’ve gained through GO and at my institution to work toward additional opportunities for WPA-oriented graduate students, especially professional development and mentoring experiences. I am also committed to maintaining equitable and inclusive work environments for GTAs and gWPAs across organizations and institutions.
