The mission of the Global Studies Collective is to provide the Graduate Center community with an inter-disciplinary forum for research, discussion, and networking relating to scholarly and professional pursuits on issues of contemporary international and global relevance; to bring together student and faculty from various departments, including but not limited to Economics, History, Anthropology, Political Science, and Sociology, to discuss issues of globalization, development, diplomacy, human rights, migration and diaspora(s) and transnationalism; to support and encourage students and faculty from various departments in the study of various aspects of global and local-distant relations; and to convene forums and meetings on issues that are important to the research agenda of its members and members of the broader Graduate Center community.
