The Interactive Technology & Pedagogy doctoral certificate program is seeking an advanced doctoral student to receive a one-year Grad “A” fellowship. Supported by the fellowship, the student will serve as the Managing Editor of the ITP program’s online, open access Journal of Interactive Technology & Pedagogy (jitp.commons.gc.cuny.edu). The Managing Editor oversees the workflow of articles and short pieces submitted to JITP, posts articles on the website, leads meetings of the Editorial Collective, works closely with issue and section editors, and works with the journal’s web development team to prepare each online issue of the journal.

Grad “A” fellowships offer a stipend starting at approximately $21,000 per year, tuition remission for students in their first 10 semesters of graduate work, and NYSHIP health benefits. Grad “A” fellows are expected to work a total of 450 hours over two semesters. This fellowship will be renewable pending funding availability.

Strong open source and computer tech skills are required, including familiarity with WordPress and other multimedia software. Prior experience with academic/public journal editing is helpful, though not required. Priority for consideration for the fellowship will be given to students who are enrolled in or have completed the ITP program.

All GC doctoral students are encouraged to apply by sending a letter of interest and a resume via email to: itp@gc.cuny.edu. The application process will remain open until May 17. We expect to award the fellowship before the end of May. The fellowship would begin formally in late August, but potential fellows should be available to train with our current Managing Editor earlier in the summer for approximately 10 or 12 hours.
