Welcome! The Simplicity Archive blog was created to spread knowledge about my simple living research project and to discuss topics and questions related to simple living.

I am hoping the Simplicity Archive website can serve a variety of purposes. Primarily, it is the digital home to the research project ‘about simple living run by me, Laurie Hurson. Through this site I hope to generate public awareness of my project in order to encourage participation. If you are committed to buying and spending less as part of the simple living movement (or something you feel is related), I want to talk to you!

This site will also serve as a blog about topics related to my research. Through this site I plan to share my thoughts on topics related to simple living, consumerism, sustainability, alternative lifestyles, consciousness raising, and anything else that might seem related. The blog will mix content from my own reading on these topics with contemporary news articles in an attempt to create new dialogue and perspectives on sustainability and lifestyle choices.

I would also like this site to serve as an archive of sorts, hence the name. An archive is typically considered a physical location but times might be changing with our increasingly digital and online world. I will began this website with my commentary and questions about simple living but in the future others can suggest/add articles (with the hashtag #simplicityarchive), provide commentary, and contribute to this public, digital archive of knowledge about simple living and connected topics.

I am really looking forward to starting this digital project amassing and creating knowledge on simple living. My hope is that in the future I will not be the only one reading and writing here. I am excited for your future comments, feedback, and suggestions.

Talk to you all soon!
