Writing For Research at CSI

Writing Across the Curriculum at The CSI Library

The Writing Across the Curriculum initiative at CSI developed this website to help you write a great research paper. The guides found on this website should be helpful to any student who is writing a research paper, though they have been designed with classes visiting the library in mind (see below). All materials provided here are free to use and distribute. These guides are intended to be usable across disciplines, but instructors should feel free to modify them as they see fit. Please contact Kevin Hughes with questions, or for access to documents in an editable format.

Your Library Visit

Many classes at CSI schedule visits to the library to learn about library resources and the basics of library research, particularly if they have recently been assigned a research paper. The guides on this website serve as companion materials for these library visits. During your visit, you will hear directly from a librarian about what resources and services are available to you, the basics of conducting research at the library, and how the library can help you throughout the research and writing process. You’ll get tips on searching for books, articles and other information sources, as well as information on which kinds resources are best to use for your paper. The materials provided on this website offer additional guidance. Use these guides to prepare for your library visit and to keep yourself on track as you begin writing your paper.
