Have a NYSHIP provider to recommend?
Found a great provider in the NYSHIP network? Let your fellow grad students know! You’ll need to create an account to access the recommendation form on the main Doctoral Students’ Council (DSC) site—but it’s very quick and easy to do.
And, should you prefer, you’re also quite welcome to let us know your recommendation via our contact form.

Also, if you’ve got any advice on avoiding NYSHIP pitfalls, please let us know! Any tips to help other students with NYSHIP avoid incurring unexpected costs or to negotiate their way around NYSHIP difficulties are very welcome. (For instance, don’t let an in-network doctor send your blood-work to an out-of-network lab.)
Please see this dentist. He participates with our student dental plan 100%. Excellent hands, he is located right across the street on 34th St and Fifth Avenue. They offer free teeth whitening to all of there patients.
Have to see and experience to believe it.
I tried to add a provider but kept getting the Access Denied message despite being logged into the DSC site.
I’m so sorry for the hassle! We’re working on getting that fixed asap.
In the meantime, anyone with a provider to recommend can just send their details using the form on the ‘Contact Us’ page–which you can do completely anonymously if you’d like.
