Constitution

Mission

The mission of the Global Studies Collective is to provide the Graduate Center community with an inter-disciplinary forum for research, discussion, and networking relating to scholarly and professional pursuits on issues of contemporary international and global relevance.

To bring together student and faculty from various departments, including but not limited to Economics, History, Anthropology, Political Science, and Sociology, to discuss issues of spirituality, globalization, development, diplomacy, human rights, migration and diaspora(s) and transnationalism.

To support and encourage students and faculty from various departments in the study of various aspects of global and local-distant relations.

To convene forums and meetings on issues that are important to the research agenda of its members and members of the broader Graduate Center community

Membership

Membership shall be comprised of matriculated and non-matriculated students within the Graduate Center who indicate their wish to assume the privileges and responsibilities of membership.

Each member in good standing who is a matriculated student may hold any office in the organization.

Each member in good standing, matriculated or non-matriculated, holds one vote.

Each member shall be entitled to participate and be a member of other associations within the Graduate Center.
