About me
I’m currently working on my dissertation which is on post-9/11 U.S. discourses about tolerating and sympathizing with Muslims/Arabs. It is structured around a number of case studies looking at media and activist discourses about Muslim/Arab Americans and Iranian “victims” (women and queers). I see my work as grappling with the fraught articulations of U.S. liberalism and secularism in times of war-without-end.
I’m also a Writing Fellow at Bronx Community College and have previously been a research assistant to (separately) John Torpey and Cynthia Epstein.
