About me
I study social theory, sociology of religion, women’s studies, methods, and political sociology. My research centers around the question of secularization as well as changes in patterns of religiosity, taking into account perspectives deriving from critical theory, feminist thought, and postcolonial thought.
I joined the sociology program in 2006 after working for a year as a program intern in a nongovernmental organization in Lilongwe, Malawi, and as a research assistant at the Social Science Research Center in Berlin, Germany. I was raised in Bonn, the former capital of West Germany.
