On Friday, 20 November 2009, the Sociology Students Association at the CUNY Graduate Center is hosting its first annual graduate student conference. It will feature more than two dozen presentations from graduate students based in three different countries.

Our keynote speaker is Patricia Ticineto Clough. Other distinguished faculty members from CUNY and beyond will join in the conversation as discussants and/or in our closing plenary, including Sujatha Fernandes, Bill Kornblum, Eric Lichten, Randy Martin, Victoria Pitts-Taylor, Frances Fox Piven, and Saadia Toor.

The conference will take place at the Graduate Center, across from the Empire State Building in midtown Manhattan. It will be free and open to the public.

The conference is co-sponsored by the Center for the Study of Culture, Technology & Work, the Ph.D. Program in Sociology, the Center for the Study of Women and Society, the Center for Place, Culture & Politics, the Center for Human Environments, and the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies (CLAGS). Support provided by the Doctoral Students Council.
