<p>I am a Ph.D. candidate in sociology at the <a href="http://www.gc.cuny.edu/">City University of New York Graduate Center</a>.  </p>
<p>My main research interests revolve around immigration, immigrants&#8217; work, and issues of immigrant social and economic incorporation.  I am also interested in socioeconomic inequality, Latino studies, race and ethnicity, the construction of in-group/out-group boundaries, community and urban studies, and ethnographic and other qualitative methods.  </p>
<p>Currently, I am writing my <a href="http://opencuny.org/emiller/research/">dissertation</a>, teach at <a href="http://www.brooklyn.cuny.edu/pub/departments/sociology/">CUNY-Brooklyn College</a> and <a href="http://www.bmcc.cuny.edu/social-science/">CUNY-Borough of Manhattan Community College</a>, and work as a writing fellow in the <a href="http://socrates.bmcc.cuny.edu/WAC/WAC_at_BMCC/Welcome.html">Borough of Manhattan Community College Writing-Across-the-Curriculum</a> program.</p>
