List of FIELDS and BOOK LISTS
By the beginning of April if the First Exam is passed in January, the student should have been in contact with his/her mentor to finalize the titles of his/her three fields for the Second Exam and a one-paragraph rationale for each field. After the student’s mentor has approved them these must be submitted to the Standing Exam Committee for their approval. By November 1, the student will need to have the lists of books in the three fields approved by his/her mentor and be ready to submit these to the Standing Exam Committee. The purpose of this review is to ensure consistency and standards. The committee will either approve them or send they back for revision, if need be.
